One of the most difficult and dangerous rescue operations in India, 41 workers became trapped in the collapsed Silkyara in Uttarakhand. As per the latest reports from Uttarakhand Tunnel Rescue operation, the workers finally came out on Tuesday-ending their 17 days challenge that began on the morning of Diwali. Not to mention the overjoyed mood induced outside the tunnel since this morning.
Uttarkashi Tunnel Updates
According to the psychiatrist monitoring the trapped workers’ health during the rescue operation, they declared that the trapped laborers might experience a decline in their mental health throughout the phase of being inside the collapsed tunnel. As per the latest Uttarakhand Tunnel Live Updates, it might be difficult to assess the health of trapped laborers because they may be in a critical condition nearing death. Moreover, due to the darkness in the tunnel as well as the lack of oxygen, they will feel some decline in their health. Apart from being physically fit, they also need to remain mentally calm so that they can feel better.
How Does This Rescue Happen?
DRDO sent two robots inside the tunnel to investigate the possibility of a rescue plan in Uttarkashi. However, robots may not move inside the tunnel because of loose strata and debris inside the tunnels. Additionally, the rescue team sends them food, mobile devices, chargers and other essentials to the trapped workers. Moreover, the successful installation of six inch pipe inside the tunnels filled the trapped workers with hope and confidence that their long wait for rescue would end soon. After that, they laid a six-inch pipe not only to transport food but also to allow trapped workers to breathe. And in the end, after rigorous efforts, they rescued the 41 workers who had been trapped for 17 days on Tuesday.
Uttarakhand Government Will Bear the Expenses of Family Members
The Uttarakhand Government will cover the expenses of travel, food, and lodging for the 41 workers. Furthermore, Uttarakhand CM announces a one-lakh-rupee initial compensation for each worker and commends rescue teams and workers for their tenacity and perseverance.
