Imran Khan

The Prime Minister of Pakistan faces the most consequential civil crisis. Pakistan has plunged into a constitutional emergency after the assembly speaker rejected the no-confidence motion passed against Imran Khan by the opposition in the house of parliament.

The motion bill against Imran Khan was started by the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) which has Pakistan’s major opposition parties such as the People’s Party (PPP) and Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) PML(N). Imran Khan who was elected on the grounds to stay true and lead the country without corruption has been charged by the opposition on the grounds of corruption and unfulfillment of promises made to the people by him. His party, Tehreek-e-Insaaf, has also been called the “Gang of Thieves” in public gatherings made by the opposition. After the no-confidence motion got rejected by the Speaker, PM Imran Khan got parliament dissolved, which led to calls for early elections in Pakistan.

It is believed that Pakistan’s army is the real ruler and takes all the major decisions but the Pakistani establishment has denied its role which led to the political turmoil in the country.

Imran Khan has further gone on to say that there has been a change in the charges issued against him due to the interference made by the USA. He says that there have been changes in the internal documents by external forces. Pakistan’s Army has made it clear to all the media channels as well as the general public that there was no letter or any interference from the USA. The USA has firmly rejected the charges made by Imran Khan. They said that they have no hand in this process.

President Arif Alvi has clearly said that Imran Khan will act to be the Prime Minister of Pakistan until there is an election of a new Prime Minister.

The coming days will be interesting in Pakistan’s politics as opposition parties are trying their best to win over Pakistan’s power game. Meanwhile, the Russian Foreign Ministry has issued a statement that PM Imran Khan is being punished by The USA for his recent visit to Russia and his stance on Russia – the Ukraine conflicts.
