What does Police say about the attack?
According to Punjab Director General of Police Viresh Kumar Bhawra, “Moosewala left his house in Moosa village at 4.30 pm. around 5.30 pm; he was driving his jeep, accompanied by two persons when two vehicles that had been following him intercepted his vehicle and fired at him.”
The AAP government had reduced the security cover for Sidhu Moose Wala on the 26th of May from four to two in an effort to curb the VIP culture in Punjab. Unfortunately, the singer didn’t take the two commandos and his bulletproof car along with him. Police have mentioned about the involvement of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang behind the horrific killing of the singer.
The suspected reason behind the killing
Inter-gang rivalry is considered the reason behind the incident. Goldy Brar, a Canada-based gangster has taken the responsibility for the killing. A long social media post was posted by Goldy Brar encapsulating the reasons behind the killing.
There is a possible inter-gang rivalry between Lawrence Bishnoi and Lucky Patial gangs and the attack might be related to it. Moose Wala’s manager’s name had appeared in Vicky Midhukhera’s murder that took place last year in August.
Goldy Brar who’s a member of the Bishnoi gang wrote in his post about himself and Lawrence Bishnoi being behind the assassination. “Moose Wala’s name surfaced in our brother Vikramjit Singh Middukhera and Gurlal Brar’s murders, but the Punjab Police did not take any action against him. We also came to know that Moosewala was also involved in the encounter with our associate Ankit Bhadu. Moosewala was working against us,”
Chief Minister, Bhagwant Singh Maan has ordered Inspector General Bathinda Range to constitute an SIT to probe the whole incident. The C.M has asked the people to remain calm and said the perpetrators won’t be spared.
“I am deeply saddened and shocked by the horrific murder of Sidhu Moose Wala. No culprit will be spared. My heartfelt sympathies and prayers are with his family and his fans all over the world. Appeal to all to remain calm,” he tweeted.
