Bihar (Patna): On Wednesday, at least 24 people were allegedly Killed After Drinking Toxic Liquor in various villages of Chhapra in Bihar’s Saran district. One of them died while being treated at the district hospital, and the others are thought to be receiving private care. His body has been taken into custody by the police. An official stated that his body will be sent for a post-mortem to determine the cause of death. Though the victims’ relatives claim that toxic liquor was to blame for their deaths, authorities have yet to confirm this.

In the hooch tragedy, Vijendra Rai, Harendra Ram, Ramji Saha, Amit Ranjan, Sanjay Singh, Kunal Singh, Ajay Giri, Mukesh Sharma, Bharat Ram, Jaydev Singh, Manoj Ram, Mangal Rai, Nasir Hussain, Ramesh Ram, Chandra Ram, Vikki Mahto, Lallan Ram, Govind Rai, Premchand Shah, and Dinesh Thakur were Killed After Drinking Toxic Liquor.
“Three people died earlier in the day, and their bodies were sent for autopsies; their deaths appear suspicious,” the report states. I’ve also learned that some additional people are being treated in various locations,” SP S. Kumar stated.
The police stated that the cause of death would not be determined until the post-mortem examination was completed. Sanjay Singh of Doila village, Kunal Kumar of Mashrak, and Ganesh Ram, all of whom lived in the Ishauvpur police station area, are said to have died in the village after consuming fake liquor.
Police have yet to confirm the deceased’s relatives’ claim that spurious liquor was the cause of death. In mid-August, five people died in a similar case in the same district in Bhualpur village after consuming fake liquor.
A Commotion in Biharโs Assembly
Meanwhile, a commotion erupted in the Bihar Assembly over the illegal liquor death toll. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar accused the BJP of selling bogus liquor in the state and referred to them as drunkards.
Local BJP MLA Janak Singh blamed the deaths on the Nitish Kumar-led Bihar government. At least three of the victims died in his village.
Thousands of people are dying in the state as a result of toxic liquor, but the Chief Minister is doing nothing. He said, without mentioning Nitish Kumar, “Those in charge of the government are to blame for this,” because he said officials would be investigated if such incidents occurred in their area.
I want to know how many of these officials have been looked into, and whose supervision do these incidents fall under. How did the poisonous liquor get to my village? You make money by operating police stations. “You have no right to be in power for even a minute,” he added to his criticism of the state government.
